Benefits associated with each membership grade are described on our website. We reserve the right to modify membership benefits at any time, with reasonable notice provided to members.

4.4 Professional Conduct

As a member, you agree to:

  • Uphold the professional standards and code of conduct of GEDS
  • Act with integrity and professionalism in all professional dealings
  • Maintain and develop your professional competence through CPD
  • Not bring GEDS into disrepute through your actions or conduct

4.5 Membership Renewal

Membership is renewed annually. Failure to renew by the due date may result in lapse of membership and associated benefits. Lapsed members may be required to reapply for membership.

4.6 Use of Designatory Letters

Members may use the appropriate post-nominal letters (e.g., AGEDS, MGEDS, FGEDS) only while their membership remains current. Misuse of designatory letters may result in disciplinary action.

5. Qualifications

5.1 Registration

Learners must be registered for qualifications through an accredited Training Centre. Registration is subject to meeting any prerequisite requirements and payment of applicable fees.

5.2 Assessment

All assessments must be completed in accordance with GEDS assessment policies and procedures. GEDS reserves the right to withhold results or certificates where there is evidence of malpractice or maladministration.

5.3 Certification

Certificates are issued upon successful completion of all qualification requirements. Certificates remain the property of GEDS and may be revoked in cases of fraud or malpractice.

5.4 Appeals and Complaints

Learners have the right to appeal assessment decisions and make complaints in accordance with GEDS policies. Details of the appeals and complaints procedures are available on our website.

5.5 Reasonable Adjustments

GEDS is committed to making reasonable adjustments for learners with disabilities or specific learning needs. Requests for reasonable adjustments should be made through your Training Centre.

6. Payments & Refunds

6.1 Fees

All fees for membership, qualifications, courses, and other services are as stated on our website or in our communications. Fees are quoted in GBP unless otherwise stated and are exclusive of VAT where applicable.

6.2 Payment Methods

We accept payment by major credit and debit cards, bank transfer, and other methods as specified at the time of purchase. All payments must be made in full before services are provided unless alternative arrangements have been agreed.

6.3 Refund Policy

Refunds are handled in accordance with our refund policy:

  • Membership fees: Non-refundable once membership has been activated
  • Qualification registration: Refundable within 14 days if learning has not commenced
  • CPD courses: Refundable within 14 days of purchase if not accessed
  • Events: Refundable up to 7 days before the event date

6.4 Price Changes

We reserve the right to change our fees at any time. Any price changes will not affect purchases already completed or memberships already renewed.

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Ownership

All intellectual property rights in the website, Content, and Services are owned by GEDS or our licensors. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Trademarks, logos, and brand names
  • Website design, layout, and graphics
  • Course materials and qualification specifications
  • Assessment materials and examination papers
  • Publications and resources

7.2 Permitted Use

You may download and print Content for your personal, non-commercial use, provided you do not modify the Content and you retain all copyright and other proprietary notices.

7.3 Restrictions

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, republish, download, store, or transmit any Content without our prior written consent, except as expressly permitted in these Terms.

8. User Content

8.1 Your Content

You may have the opportunity to submit content to our website, such as comments, forum posts, or profile information ("User Content"). 9.3 Maximum Liability
